Sydney: Round 2!

We rocked up in Sydney. The final leg. The home stretch. The last hoorah!

I have to admit, we were exhausted! But that didn't stop us from taking advantage of a 3 hour walking tour around the CBD! This included: a walk through the Queen Victoria Building (a really neat mall), a stroll by the Sydney Hospital (the oldest hospital in Australia!) where we got to rub the nose of the Porcellino (which was sent over from Florence) for good luck, and a lot of streets and alleys in between to end up overlooking the Harbor Bridge and the Opera House! Then once the tour was over, what better place to grab lunch than The Rocks Markets!? mmmmmm Okonomiyaki! THEN! Another person found his way back into our lives... Phil! Good ol' Phil, the Seneca College professor that we met in the outback! We caught up and filled each other in on the events of the last week or so since we'd parted ways while we walked up the steps of the Opera House and strolled through the Royal Botanic Gardens. We really made the best of the day and jam packed it with activities, and it was really lucky we did because the next day was simply miserable! Maybe on of the most miserable days of my life to be honest. We planned to meet Phil for breakfast and explore the Saturday morning Paddington Markets... as soon as we stepped outside, we were pretty much soaked to the bone. So we splashed our way to the Paddington area and found a breakfast place with the most overpriced and disappointing french toast I have ever had in my life. You do not want to get me started..................... the market was cool though! A little more on the trendy, hip, pricey side but it was cool to look around at all the stuff! It continued to rain the entire time. We eventually realized that it would be a waste of our time to go all the way to Bondi Beach since we were already soaked and freezing cold and miserable. With not much left to see and not much motivation left.... we headed to the airport to wait for like five hours until our evening flight back to Melbourne. Bummer. BUT we watched a good heap of Modern Family and the McDonalds 30¢ ice cream cones made up for the overpriced coffee!

So back to Melbourne we went. We had one more day left in Melbourne before our long journey home. We finally had a little sleep in and then spent the day wondering up and down Chapel Street window shopping, market shopping, . And that was a wrap, we headed back to the house, ordered in some really spicy Thai food, packed up and prepared for our last flight in the morning.

The last sleep in my crooked, broken, warped, sinkhole of a bed in the not-so-luxurious Canada House. The last early morning wake up.
The last cheap as fast food ice cream cone.
The last departure from Melbourne-Tullmarine airport.

Depart from Melbourne: 7:30 a.m, June 24th
22 hours later.....
Arrived in Los Angeles: 9:30 a.m, June 24th......
6 hours later.....
Arrived in Toronto 5:30 p.m June 24th....
(something along those lines.. you get the picture though... it was June 24th for like waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long!)

My mumma won't even pick me up from school in London but she came all that way to pick me up and bring me home from the land down under!

Sincerely,
AUS
